RBI-s-Young-Scholars-Award-Scheme-2012

RBI's Young Scholars Award Scheme 2012

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has launched the RBI Young Scholars Award Scheme to generate interest in and awareness about the Indian banking sector and RBI. Under the Scheme, the RBI will select a maximum of 150 young scholars through a countrywide competitive examination and award scholarship. Selection test will focus on the role and functions of RBI and banks in India and will be held in English as well as in all major regional languages. Selected candidates will be required to work on projects in select offices of RBI for 2 to 3 months and will be paid a consolidated stipend of Rs. 7500/- per month during the duration of the project. RBI will assist outstation awardees in boarding and lodging. The awardees shall have no right/claim for an appointment in the RBI. Any candidate who had qualified and worked at RBI under the RBI Young Scholar Award Scheme in any of the previous years are not eligible to apply again.

All students, between 18 and 23 years of age, currently pursuing their undergraduate studies in any subject under any recognized university in India, are eligible to take the competitive examination. There is no application fee. The selection test will be held on January 29, 2012 at various centres across India. The results of the selection test will be announced in the first week of April 2012. Desirous candidates may submit applications only by the online mode. Last date for receipt of applications is December 16, 2011. 1. Eligibility
(A) Educational Qualification: All students across India who have completed 10 + 2 years of formal education or its equivalent from recognized institutions/boards in 2011 or before and are currently pursuing their undergraduate studies. However, those having enrolled for or having acquired degree(s) higher than graduation will not be eligible. Candidates who have qualified and worked at RBI as a Young Scholar in any of the previous years are not eligible to apply again.

(B) Age: Candidates should be of age 18 years or more but less than 23 years as on September 1, 2011.

2. Number of Seats
A maximum of 150 young scholars would be awarded scholarship by the RBI every year under the scheme. Out of these, a maximum of 50 candidates may be selected through a test conducted in English medium. The rest, up to a maximum number of 100, shall be selected on regional basis through a test conducted in vernacular medium.

3. Entrance Examination
The entrance exam will be conducted in English, Hindi and 11 other regional languages. The regional languages will be Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu. The exam will be held at around 100 different locations spread all across the country. The indicative List of Centres is given in this notification.

4. Examination Pattern
The examination will be of objective type with multiple choices for answers. The paper will be of approximately 90 minutes duration and will have questions related to role and functioning of the RBI, the trend of banking industry in India and general economic and financial environment of the country.

5. How to prepare for the Exam

6. Placements and Project Assignment
The selected All India candidates and the Regional Candidates will be placed at the nearest Regional Office designated for the purpose, depending on the size of the office. The selected candidates will be required to work within the RBI on projects/assignments allocated to them by the respective Regional Director of RBI. They will be expected to complete the same in a reasonable time, subject to a minimum of 2 months and a maximum of 3 calendar months.

7. Stipend
During their stint with the RBI, they will be paid a consolidated monthly stipend of Rs.7500/- per head. For broken periods, the amount will be calculated on a pro rata basis.

8. Accommodation
During their stay with the RBI, the selected scholars who do not have a place to reside at the centre of placement will be assisted with accommodation for the duration of their project.

9. How to Apply
Candidates willing to apply for the scholarship may apply online using the link http://www.rbi.org.in/youngscholars.aspx There is no fee for application or examination. Applications sent through any other mode such as by post or courier etc will not be accepted.

Guidelines for Online Application
• Candidates should have a valid email ID.
• Go to the website and follow the instructions.
• After applying online, the registered candidates should obtain a system generated printout of the registered information and preserve the same to enable generation of call letters online.

10. Last Date for Receipt of Application
The application should be filed online before December 16, 2011.

JNTU-HYD-Condonation-of-the-attendance-is-reduced-to-40-For-B.Tech-B.Pharmacy-For-the-Academic-Year-2011-2012

JNTU-HYD : Condonation of the attendance is reduced upto 40% For B.Tech / B.Pharmacy For the Academic Year 2011-2012

Several representations have been receivced from the students & parents of B.Tech and B.Pharmacy students to condone their shortage of their attendance. The university has constituated a committe to examine the shortage of attendance.

Based on the committe report, the vice-Chancellor is pleased to condone the shortage of attendance upto 40% as a special case only for the first semester of the academic year 2011-12

Accordingly the following instructions are to be followed for the academic year 2011-2012.

1) Attendance should be given for the students who have participated in NCC, Sports and Games as per the university norms.

2) Attendance should be counted for all the candidates appearing for all the MID Term examinations.

3) The Condonation of the attendance upto 40% may be given to all the students while computing the attendance in views of the recent disturbances. This is applicable for the first semester of the Academic Year 2011-12 only.

The Principals are requested to finalize the detentions accordingly & upload to the university on or before 02/12/2011 by 05:00PM.

Note :
If any student gets eligibility as per these proceedings and the student desires to pay the condonation fee, such students hall-ticket numbers are to be deleted from the detained students list and are to be freshly uploaded from the respectibe registration servers of the university on or before 2nd Dec-2011. if such students have already registered for the university regular exams, such registrations will be restored back. However if any student has not yet registered, fresh registrations have to be carried out for such students. Such students need not pay Rs.10,000/- penalty which is in vogue.

If any student has not appeared for the already conducted II Mid Term Exams which are commenced from 28th Nov-2011, Special arrangements may be made for conducting the mid term exams for the already conducted exams, on or before 9th Dec-2011 at their convenience.

English Communication Practice Syllabus For II Year B.Tech/B.Pharm – II Semester

Name of the Course
: Explorations II
Life, Language and Culture

Purpose of the Course: English for Semester 4 is designed to provide the learners an opportunity to enhance their language skills through a reading of literary texts which will also help them relate themselves to different cultures vis-à-vis their own. Independent reading is also expected to increase spontaneity in expression among the learners.

Objectives: The Course aims at exposing the learners to nuances in culture, inculcating the habit of independent reading which provides the learners an opportunity to develop critical thinking and analytical skills that can be applied to any subject.

Content of the course
: The literary pieces are carefully chosen from across cultures as samples of contemporary life and issues of global interest. This is meant to encourage students to relate language to personality development. In all, five literary pieces for Explorations II have been selected and another showcasing a holistic approach to life that can help one develop into better individuals and professionals.

Topics
: Culture and traditions, philosophy, familial relationships, ethics, inter-personal relationships, ability to face disaster and poverty, tolerance.

Time frame/Hours of instruction:
2 hrs per week (for pre-reading and post reading tasks of the lessons). Total number of hours per semester - 32.

Time Allocation for each unit
: Reading of the text should be done at home. The class hours are meant for discussion, analysis and related activities. Project should be completed in consultation with the teacher.

Note:
(i) This Notification is meant for the students who studied/studying in the constituent and affiliated colleges of JNTU Hyderabad only.

(ii) This notification is issued for only such students who have completed their course and having backlog subjects.

(iii) For online registration of Examinations the students have to contact the Principals of the colleges where they studied/studying. For the said special supplementary University Exams, the exam registrations have to be directly carried out by logging in to University registrations server from the respective colleges. No request form the students for the registration of Exams at the University will be entertained.

(iv) Principals are requested to verify the eligibility of the candidates for registration for examination in respect of malpractice/court cases.

(v) In case of Physical Handicapped students (deaf, dumb, hearing impaired, orthopedically handicapped and visually handicapped) as per University letter No. JNTUH/EB/Concessions to Handicapped students / 2010(1), dt.26-04-2010, with relevant documental evidence are eligible for exemption of examination fee payment.

(vi) The students are informed to note that the Hall Tickets are to be collected from the Principals of the respective colleges only.
